PPA14 Contest

Thought I'd participate in the Pals Paper Challenge this week... We were told to make a card with pink in it in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, in my crafting this morning, this is what I came up with! I've been making cards like crazy for the craft show! If only I weren't so silly and didn't mind making the same card twice--I'd have a lot more done that way!

Craft room!

So our "guest room" is now more of a "craft room!" Since our old table was just sitting in the basement, I dragged it upstairs to use in in the corner of my craft room. This doubled my counter space and gave me more room to store things in view. It's easier to be creative when you can see what you have to work with!

More Christmas Cards

I love this huge medallion stamp! Thought I'd show off a few of the super easy cards I made using it. These cards will be for sale on November 14th's craft show.

New chairs: a before and after story...

Finally had a chance to get working on the chairs last night! I've had the fabric sitting here for over a week but really have not had a spare chunk of time to take these apart and start the redo. So, I put on a movie (The Business of Being Born which is wonderful and educational and great!) and got started! Aaron was out helping a friend organize his garage so that he can store his new motorcycle there so I took over the living room! I have two more to finish today sometime. I took a break to watch some TV with Aaron last night and we both fell asleep! After that it was straight to bed that's for sure!

A dog's life

We let Champ up on the couch with us for the first time this week. He's a couch potatoe already and doesn't leave us any room! I gotta say though, it really is so much fun having a dog like him!

Pasta Pie

I made the Pasta Pie that I had posted about a few weeks ago on Wednesday. It was so much fun to make! I had to line up all the noodles in the pan, fill them with the sauce and push it into each of them, and then layer the cheese on top. Sort of therapeutic doing all those steps! And it tasted quite yummy as well! I had one little hitch because it said to undercook the noodles and I may have undercooked them a bit too much, but a little chewiness was manageable! Hah!

Who wouldn't want a slice of that yumminess!?!

Ribbon Ribbbon Ribbon!!

I took my first trip to Fabricland this week!

Someone on Freecycle gave Aaron and I a wonderful table and chair set and I needed to get fabric to redo the upholstery on the chairs. I never knew there would be so many choices! I was there at least a half hour to pick two types of fabric. Howeevvverrrrr, while I was browsing I ran into a huge stand of ribbon that was buy one meter get THREE meters free. Um hello!?! Who is not going to do this! So I dragged at least fifteen different colours to their cutting table and left with a huge pile of wonderfully lovely ribbon!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to mention AVON on here or not, but it doesn't feel right not to! I've been an Avon rep for over a year now, so it is a big part of my life. Stampin' Up Workshop

My Stampin' Up Workshop is coming up fast!

Don't forget to RSVP by this Saturday, October 10th, to make sure your spot is saved! We need to know how many chairs to set up and Alesha (our Stampin' Up demonstrator) needs to know how many supplies to get together. The workshop is October 16th at 7pm at my home. We will be making a few great (and free!!) projects, having a great dessert, and just enjoying crafting together! Check out Alesha's blog for some of the cool things she's made with Stampin' Up!

Craft Fair

I'm going to a craft fair!
November 14th in Brantford, I will be selling my cards at a table with my mom and sister at Mount Pleasant Community Church. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get my name to a few people for future orders and sell some work there; I'd really like to make this more than just a hobby.

Trash the Dress!

I did it!

Since we got married two years ago, I've been wanting to do a "Trash the Dress" session! There are some awesome pictures around and I wanted to do some in the river here or in the splash pad. I really wanted to get it done this summer because we could be pregnant next year, and I got lucky! Brittany was available to do a shoot and the weather turned out to be great that day! Not too cold in the water either!

And for those of you who were worried...the dress didn't really get trashed, just really really wet! We did a good hose down when I got home, and it's none the worse for wear!
